Step 3 - Creating A Blog Post

This section is going to cover some of the basic functions that you can use when creating your blog posts.

Using the interface on your Blogger blog is very similar to most word processors such as Microsoft Word.

First thing you need to do is create a title for your post. To get the best search results, make sure you include the keywords you are trying to rank for but also try to make it something that someone would click on.

Just below the title is a box where you can typing your post. At the top of the box, you have several effects you can use including:

- Font Type
- Font Size
- Bold
- Italics
- Font Color
- Add A Hyperlink
- Left, Center and Right Align
- Numbered List
- Bullets
- Quotes
- Spell Checker
- Add Image
- Add Video

Or you could click the "edit html" to add custom html.

At the bottom of the box where it says "Labels for this post", this is enter your keywords separated by commas.

At the bottom left, if you click on "Post Options" you will be able to allow or dis-allow readers the ability to comment on that post. You can also choose when you want that post to be published and become live on your blog.

Once you have finished writing your post, click the "publish post" button or if you aren't finished, you can hit the "save now" button.

Step 2 - Changing Some Basic Blogger Blog Settings

To change the settings of your blogger blog, click on the "Settings". In the "basic" tab, you should add a description for your blog. Most of the other options can be left as default. Once you made these changes, click the "Save Settings" button at the bottom of the page.

Most of the other settings are optional and will be up to you.

In the "Comments" tab, you can choose who can comment on the posts on your blogger blog. You should make sure that "show word verification for comments" is set to "yes". This will help prevent spam comments.

If you want to customize the layout and design of your blogger blog, click on the "Design" tab at the top. You can then click and drag to rearrange elements to your liking.

You can click on "add a gadget" to choose from a variety of elements you can add to your blog.

To remove any of the elements, click the "edit" and then click the "remove" button.

If you make any changes, make sure you click the "save" button.

Next you can click on the "Monetize" tab to add Google Adsense ads to your blog which will allow you to make money when people click on the ads.

You can also add Amazon products under the "Amazon Associates" tab by being an Amazon affiliate.

Step 1 - Creating A Blogger Blog

To create a Blogger blog, you will need a Google account or Gmail account. If you already have one.. great! If not you will have to sign up for one.

Just go to Google and type in "blogger" or go to "blogger.com"

I will be showing you how to setup your blogger blog with the expectation that you already have a Google account.

At blogger.com, you will have 2 options:

1 - click "get started" and it will get you to sign up and take you through a slightly different process

or

2 - sign in to your Google account on right, this is the method that I will be going through

So at this point, sign in to your Google account.

On the following page, you should see a link that says "Create a Blog" click that link.

Step 1 - Name Your Blog

Enter the Title and URL, then enter the word verification and click "continue".

Step 2 - Choose Template

Choose one of the available templates below and then click "continue".

Now you should see that your blog has been created. Now click "start blogging".

The next page you see will be where you can start creating your first blog post.
